1. What is Biofield Tuning?

Biofield Tuning is considered an energy medicine, biofield therapy, and sound therapy. It is a sound therapy method developed by Eileen McKusick, an author, researcher and founder of The Biofield Tuning Institute. 
 
Biofield Tuning is a sound therapy method that is addressing the distorted noise or dissonance that can be found in the biofield (the human energy field that surrounds the body), the energy systems in the body as well as in the mind, heart, and body. The distorted sound, that can be heard when using Biofield Tuning Forks, is considered to be the congestive energy or energetic blockages; also called incoherent frequency or "dissonance" noise.

Biofield Tuning believes and has found that "all physical, mental, and emotional disorders can be perceived as "dissonance" in your energy field," which is what is creating the distorted noise when using Biofield Tuning Forks. "Biofield Tuning is able to diminish and resolve this dissonance and in doing so, alleviate and even eradicate the corresponding physical, mental and/or emotional symptoms."

In other words, the Tuning Fork that is used in the Biofield can only make one sound, like hitting a piano key, and ideally, the practitioner wants to hear a clear, bright sound (also called a coherent frequency). However, when the practitioner comes across congestive energy in the Biofield the sound from the Tuning Fork will change to distorted noise.

What the client can experience during the session:
   *Can hear the distorted noise
   *Can sense the heaviness
   *May experience a strong emotion come to the surface (such as sadness or anger) 
   *Holding their breath or shallow breathing 
   *Tension in the body
   *Flashbacks to past memories

As the practitioner resolves the dissonance noise in the Biofield, both the practitioner and the client will hear the change in the Tuning Fork from distorted noise to a bright, clear sound. It has been found the client will experience a shift, where the heaviness they were experiencing will become lighter. There are many techniques and methods used in Biofield Tuning, but this is one of the most important ones.

Additionally, the release of stagnant energy and resolving the dissonance noise in the Biofield has been found to create deep healing and relief from past traumatic or painful experiences as well as releasing our  "emotional baggage" and breaking free from limiting thought processes.

2. What is a Tuning Fork or a Weighted Tuning Fork that is used in a Biofield Tuning session?

In a Biofield Tuning session, a practitioner will either be using a Tuning Fork or Weighted Tuning Fork (that come in different sizes) to address the stagnant energy or "dissonance" noise (which you can hear when using the Tuning Forks).

A Tuning Fork is a two-pronged steel device, which vibrates when struck and can only create one tone, similar to hitting a piano key. A Tuning Fork either makes a clear, bright tone (coherent frequency) or a distorted, muggy tone (dissonance in the noise or incoherent frequency). The distorted, muggy tone occurs when the practitioner comes across the congested energy in the biofield.  A Tuning Fork can help resolve what is causing the dissonance in the noise, which then changes the noise back to a clear, bright tone.

A Weighted Tuning Fork is a non-audible tool used in sound therapy to break up congestive energy in the body and in the biofield.

3. What is a Biofield Anatomy Map?

Biofield Tuning's founder, Eileen McKusick, has recorded over 20+ years of her Biofield observations and has found consistent patterns that correlate to certain energetic blockage or distorted noise, in the Biofield, to a specific age, type of memory, and the thought processes and emotions that show up in the Biofield due to those life experiences. 
 
In other words, Eileen discovered that certain thought processes, emotional wounds, heavy emotions (such as pain, fear, shame, etc.), and certain X factors that are affecting us from moving forward in our lives and accomplishing our goals are consistently showing up in the same place in the Biofield for different people.
 
Additionally, your Biofield has been found to be about 5 to 6 feet around the body. When it comes to your life's timeline, what has been discovered is the outer edge of the Biofield represents being in the womb and as the practitioner works their way closer to the client (who is lying on the treatment table and fully clothed), we get closer to their current age and present time.

By using your Biofield as your life's timeline, similar to the rings found inside a redwood tree, we can pinpoint a certain age and possibly an experience that may have shaped your belief system or created emotional wounds that need to be resolved through sound therapy.

As the biofield dissonance subsides through the Biofield Tuning methods, clients generally report feeling "lighter" and a diminishment or resolution of their symptoms; a breakthrough has occurred!

4. Can you actually hear Congestive and Stagnant Energy or Energetic Blockages by using a Tuning Fork?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can actually hear it! Most clients also feel a sensation of heaviness when the Tuning Fork is addressing congestive energy or a dissonance noise in the Biofield. Additionally, some clients express feeling a strong emotion coming up (such as sadness or anger) before it gets released through breaking up the congestive energy with the Tuning Fork.

5. Do I have to share my past experiences in order to receive the benefits of Biofield Tuning? When the past comes up, does it mean I have to relive it?"

Accepted Answer

In an Evolve & Empower session, you are not obligated to share your past experiences to receive the benefits of Biofield Tuning. Although, there can be freedom and empowerment found in speaking your truth out loud. It can also support the breakthrough by releasing verbally and emotionally anything you have been holding in.

When the past comes up, it doesn't mean you have to relive it. If anything, it's more about revisiting a past experience to review it; to create awareness, to learn, and to focus on what can be gained from that experience that can support your greatest highest good now. It's about stepping into an observer's role; when reviewing and reflecting on past experiences. As your practitioner, I will also be there to support and guide you throughout the session.

You also have the choice to just focus on receiving the benefits of Biofield Tuning without getting into the details of your life's timeline and past experiences.

6.  What does Evolve and Empower address when using Biofield Tuning?

Evolve & Empower's goal is to support my clients in breaking free from their past and breaking through any glass ceilings that may be preventing them from accomplishing their goals in love!

Evolve & Empower, uses Biofield Tuning for the topics of self-love, dating, romantic relationship, patterns in love, and/or your relationship to love.

7. How should I prepare for the session?

I like to encourage my clients to come to your session well-hydrated because water has sound-conductive properties.

Also, come in comfortable clothes.

8. What to expect During a Biofield Tuning Session?

Accepted Answer

​The session will begin with the client lying down fully clothed on the treatment table. The practitioner will help prepare the client for the session by grounding & centering them, breaking up congested energy that can be found in the minor chakras & joints, and opening up the flow in their energy system. 
 
Depending on what we are addressing in the session will determine what part of the biofield I will be focusing on as your practitioner. The main focus in the session is working on certain areas of the Biofield that address the client's goal and what will serve their greatest and highest good. Typically, the practitioner will always begin by starting on the outside of the biofield and working inward towards the client.
 
The practitioner is listening for any distorted tones that the Tuning Fork is making that indicates the congested energy within the biofield. To resolve any distorted noise in the Biofield, the practitioner will continue to strike the Tuning Fork until you can hear that bright, clear, consistent tone.
 
When the practitioner comes across the distorted energy, the client can experience a variety of different things. What clients have expressed experiencing is a feeling of heaviness, tension in their body, holding in their breath, a mixture of intense emotions, and it can even bring up memories. Whatever may come up for you, I am there to support you as the release occurs, and I will also continue on with the treatment. Each session has an impact on you, even if you don’t have any of these experiences listed above.

Additionally, throughout the session, you will be playing an active role by participating in breath work & body scan, affirmations to help shift your mindset, and other holistic tools when needed to support your deep healing, releasing, and successful breakthroughs.

Question 9

9. What happens After the treatment?

After the Sound Therapy Session, there can still be releasing taking place as well as an adjustment and integration period that can take 1-3 days or 5-7 days depending on how big the release was and what we are working on in the session. This is why all of my clients are given a take-home document to know what to expect and how to support their self-care.
 
Most people who receive Biofield Tuning sessions report feeling clearer, calmer, more relaxed, and more self-aware. However, everyone is different and every person has a unique experience.
 
Some clients also have reported in their detox:
 
*Profound exhaustion and tiredness, needing to sleep or lay low for a day or more: generally, happens with people who have been ‘running on empty’ or experiencing restless sleep or insomnia 
*Or the opposite, an increase in their energy level and feeling hyper 
*Extreme emotions, or being very aware of formerly masked or buried emotions- such as crying or feeling very angry (etc.)
*Headaches and/or dizziness
*Muscle soreness or aches 
*Symptoms similar to the flu 
 
Generally, these symptoms of detox will pass within 1-4 days, but if a condition persists, it is important that you make an appointment with your Biofield Tuning Practitioner. Sometimes people can get ‘stuck’ in the unwinding process and need an additional boost to complete the adjustments.

It is encouraged for all clients to drink a lot of water to help with the detox; the removal of toxins and energy congestion. Water intake should be increased for the next couple of days (as long as there is no water restriction from your physician).

Additionally, to accelerate the detox process, I would recommend for my clients to soak either their feet or ideally take a bath in Epsom Salts for 20 minutes (if there are no health restrictions on using Epsom Salts).  You don't want to take an Epsom Salt bath longer than 20 minutes because it has been found that your body will re-absorb the toxins that were released.

Question 10

10. Is there anyone who shouldn't receive Biofield Tuning?

Accepted Answer

Although Biofield Tuning is a non-invasive holistic modality, here is a list of specific situations or conditions that Biofield Tuning should not be used in conjunction with:
 
1. Cancer: 
*Detox pathways are often too compromised and the body doesn’t have the resources to manage the process
*Detox can be severe
*Tumors seem to be irritated by tuning

2. Terminal illness:
*Body systems are compromised and do not have the capacity to digest energy 
*Detox can be severe

3. End-of-life:
*Tuning forks are too strong for the system
*Detox can be severe

4. Pregnancy:
*Could potentially send a client into detox
*Risk for miscarriage

5. Pacemaker or other implanted medical devices:
*Tuning forks could interfere with these devices

6. Recent concussions:
*The brain is swollen and takes a while for inflammation to resolve
*Wait at least 3 months before doing a tuning on the head, 6 months is even better

7. Morbid obesity:
*Not necessarily contraindicated, but can create profound detox
*Suppressed emotions held in fat cells

Question 11

11. How many sessions will I need?

Accepted Answer

I ask all clients to commitment to 3 sessions of Sound Therapy Service (Biofield Tuning) to be completed within one month before reevaluating the next step. This is not an upfront financial commitment, but it is in my client’s best interest to commit to a total of 3 sessions when working through any goal or detox that may come up during the session and in-between sessions.
 
Clients typically sign up for one session every week. It is recommended to come in as soon as you can if you find yourself stuck in any of the detoxes to help relieve the symptoms. This is one of the main reasons why I ask for clients to commit to segments of 3 sessions of Biofield Tuning to help clear and break free of anything that is being worked on in the session.

However, clients are asked to wait at least 4 days before their next appointment because a lot of times the detox will clear up on it's own.

Question 12

12. Do you recommend that Biofield Tuning be used in place of traditional medical care?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not.

My Sound Therapy Service (Biofield Tuning) is designed to be integrated into your journey of healing, empowerment, and your goals related to your wellbeing.

Although Biofield Tuning has many benefits, it should not be used as a substitute for traditional medical care and medical advice.
